Put your Operating System where your mouth is and install Linux straight away. Fedora is a good, open Linux distro.

As Emir’s dedicated flatmate (and potential helpdesk I am afraid) I think it’s a good choice. Not that I am a linux expert (I had a go with slackware years ago, but still use xp for convenience), but if I had to install it for me now, I would wait for Fedora core 4…
